singapore marathon 08

i came, i ran, i overcame!

darn happy i met my personal target of 5:30hrs, and came in with a time of 5:26hrs.

walked a total of..4km tiz yr, as compared to many many km last yr.

there's a few pple i shall thank here. raine chin, who ran till abt 28km with me? n then there's christie and karine, v thoughtful of em who came down to support and juz run alongside. little words were exchanged but the being there, running alongside for the race was more than sufficient.

sometimes, all it takes is juz to be there. and so thanx..for being being there ;]

oh and i cant help but smile when i think abt the impromptu batch lunch we had at cafe cartel aft the marathon. there was when-yah, me, raine, rang and karine.

the lunch topic today was abt names. anw bottomline is, before u name ur kids in future, do sit down and discuss with ur frens. they'd help u discern if its a name tt can pass off well, sound ok, etc.

was tellin 'em abt tiz true story of my colleague's schmate, whose name is 'Jinai'. yes..J-I-N-A-I

instinctively, the form teacher called her '挤奶' as she read frm the register.

Jinai's name? it's actually 金爱!

muahahaha can u imagine?

but yea, even for yrs aft my colleague, sky, left sch, jinai's name forever remains etched in the everyone's mind.

aft which sparked a whole chain of v lame stuff involving names and how u shdn't screw up ur kids name. for instance when-yah said her colleague's fren or smtg has a name called 'pubic' (omg..tt gave us a really gd abs workout as we laughed like mad) and rang's fren who's called 'pang zhi'(which sounds somewhat like pang sai).

rang said people wondered if pang zhi's had a sibling called 'pang jiu'

the name list goes on..rang knows of a fren called 'chee wai' which sounds like..u noe la huh, and when-yah's fren whose called 'shi ting' but when the GP teacher calls out the name, it so totally sounds like shitting.

wtf? hahahah disastrous names i tell u!
