The M word
i think it was damn funny during lunch aft trg today where we were talking abt textbooks we read, snacks we ate, stuff we collected, toys we played, and shows we watched in our childhood days.
when phyllis is at the table, she will automatically get suan abt wad else, but her age. its as predictable as it can get. hahah opps.
we just kept laughing over lunch table, its not tt we wanted to but..it was amusing. we were talking abt e snacks we ate when we were younger, like double decker, roller coaster, etc. den someone asked, 'phy, 你以前吃什么 snacks?' n she said, 'i ate tiz snack called xx (i forgot wads e name), u noe it costs 20 cents?' she then went on to describe e packaging n we listened with utmost concentration.
then it was just silence and 冷场.
the next moment we all burst out laughing, and all unanimously said, '没听过! really only ur 年代 have..'
ha n i realised pple like rang n theresa have smtg in common wif me; we simply rmb all the stupedest things n have such eye for detail for songs like 萧洒走一回, the 'hei hor hei hor..hei hor hei hor hei hor' at the start of the song. e ride home was juz filled wif loads of entertainment tt gave our abs a great workout. our brain is saturated wif silly advertisement jingles that there's no memory space left for more impt stuff. its no wonder y we dun excel in studies :|
on e more serious note..
morale is a very 神奇 thing indeed. it's not as if i dun already noe it, hah but i havent given it as much thought b4. ive always pondered abt it, n today once again i mulled over it.
morale is pretty much a make or break. its not like sociology where there's tt so called room for in btwn, or overlap, or interaction btwn the two. it is a dichotomy, an either or, a dualist thinking. it is morale which enables one e xtra energy frm within to push, though u really have no idea how u get tt 'xtra' energy from. likewise, morale is wad saps wadever little energy u have left, leaving u more dejected and angrier than b4.
luckily or unluckily (i seriously have no idea), i happened to b on the 'high' morale boat today. as mentioned earlier, its just very 神奇, an unexplainable phenomenon, tt sudden surge of energy despite how tiredness have ald long set in. amazingly for the technique check rowing set back, the boat glided extremely well. morale is wad made it possible. high morale to be exact. like the song 'pass it on', 'It only takes a spark, to get the fire going. And soon all those around, can warm up in its glowing. That's how it is wif God's love (morale), once u experienced it. You spread His love, to everyone, you want to pass it on..'
So we just kinda passed it on? And it carried on throughout.
Sometimes all we need is just, a spark. simple as that. But the simplier it is, the harder it is to attain. I wouldnt say it was lucky; neither would i say its an unlucky thing tt i was on tiz high morale boat. I also believe in bad days (think david powter ;) n how defeat may serve as well as victory to shake the soul n let the glory out.
M is for Morale. morale, like trust, is smtg so abstract yet so vitally important and basic. Morale works like magic, is mysterious in its ways and remains a mind-boggling issue tt surfaces time n again.
on a seriously unrelated note, i thank God for the invention of umbrellas. kept me from the pouring rain the whole of ytd. u cant leave home without one these days.
