Now i understand y wendy was looking intently at me when a few of us went down for the xtra 15 min row.
I opted to be a right rower n sit beside twin to feel wads it like rowing with her. I mean, i wont get another chance, or would i? I read her blog and i understood. Why she was looking at me in TT way when we easy-ed. When i asked, "Wendy, why are looking at me like tt?", she answered, "I wanna capture n imprint you permanently my memory' or smth of tt sort. Sounded cheesy at tt moment.
*Flashback and ponder while* Now i realised how she went quiet at tt point till i broke e silence as i asked her the question. I sensed tt tinge of sadness as she absorbed the sights n sounds of sdba, and us. No wonder she looked at me like tt and i found it strange.
Just feel glad tt when we debriefed the junrs, many said tt aside from the mini competition tt they enjoyed, wad they really liked was the snrs coz we made them feel welcomed, very willing to teach n its a nice feeling where they felt like they belonged. Had wanted to re-create e same thing i felt last yr during fun row, wad made me wanna come back for the next trg. Yup, it was abt feeling so loved, the snrs seemed to have so much to share, so willing to give pointers bout strokes. It was like 2 or more snrs coming to correct my strokes on shore, where i started out as a right rower. Now if i row right i just wonder how i did it for fun row.
Really thankful tt some snrs came down to help out for e fun row. There were 16 snrs to match 17 jnrs who came down. was supposed to be more den 19 but eventually a few jrns last min turned up n a few cldnt make it. yunshan, meiping, mona, cheeling, wendy, geoks, angeline, zhenyi, weiling, pinxiu, jul, wenya, wenting, raine, yirang and i. Somehow just nice 8 left, 8 right. Boats were near the wall for easier boarding, rudders tied, bottles filled, paddles taken out. Everything tt shd be prepared were prepared. -Trust- loss for words but just very thankful.
'Up' was rather interesting indeed. When they 'up'-ed they got excited(during the mini race) n tt's when the paddle fight/clash came in big time. For the row there were hardly any paddle clash. So r they pro or were we lousy last yr?
Concluded tt fun row was fun. Or at least i hope it was fun, for e yr 1s as well as the snrs. Of course i hope it doesnt end here, but tt they will come down for subsequent trgs n eventually stay. It's abt giving oneself a chance, it's also abt giving the team a chance.
gotta think 2 steps ahead every time. Even to the smallest detail, everything must be considered. Even planned for the 2 $1 coins tt we'd need to lock the locker. When one chapter closes, the new chapter begins[got it frm wendy's]
Went to wenya's house to shower, n den e 4 of us proceeded for nite cycling. It was fun, but nonetheless tiring. 10 of us went for nite cycling. I started stoning aft we reached cineleisure, coz i juz felt v drained. Perhaps partly due to the alternative route tt vic had in mind, tt was actually the bus 111 route to Orchard. Basically it meant many slopes, upslopes to be exact. This time round we covered lau pat sat, sentosa, newton, cineleisure den back to ecp.
Cannot tahan when we reached ecp mac, so a few of us just KO-ed on e mac tables. Really tired man.
