i open the fridge door, and see the food that stares back at me.
mum has bought some kueh from bangawan solo. of all the kuehs, i only fancy one. this is the only kueh tt i buy from tt shop, the others i dun really like. this particular kueh that has 2 layers--green and white. the white part is sweet while the green part is just plain tasting.

i asked my mum if it has coconut content, and she said yes.

argh.

she also bought durians.

and the jurong west hai xian tang which comes with blachan chilli.

and wasabi coated potato chips.

the ice cream lady that i walk past every time i go home.

indeed, the forbidden fruit tastes so much sweeter.

some of the stuff are not under the banned items, but i banned it myself. i'm not on the heavy side, but neither am i very light. dun wanna introduce any junk food into my system so i'm being hard on myself. dun wanna cross the finishing line and den say, 'if only i hadn't eaten that..' u noe tt kinda thing?

忍!

ENDURE!!

u noe, the strange thing is that more often than not, during normal times, i dun even crave for ice cream. i wont even bat an eyelid everytime i walk past the ice cream auntie. or potato chips, i'm not a huge fan of tt either. i can live without it and not even have the urge for tt.

veins a 'popping, delts protruding, blisters as souvenir, ugly tan line, dozing off on MRT with the unglam 'head rotation', frustrations..breaking point.

overlooking all these, it is when u cross the finishing line together as one that u realise, it's all worth it.

every saturday, almost all teams congregate at sdba. i realise that this sport is indeed getting more n more popular. SDBA is getting more crowded as the weeks go by. Everyone is gearing up, training intensively for all but 1 important event in the dragonboat calendar.

1st and 2nd july.

observe e different teams, not just their strokes, but also their culture. their built, attire, pattern. nus is really a 彩虹队 in terms of trg attire. other teams have a standardised trg attire. as for built, we come in all shapes n sizes. most other teams have rowers seemingly to come out from the same mould, they r either all v original girls, or perhaps mostly v bulky.

"u dun need to be very strong in dragonboat. u need to noe how to pull. feel the water, get the catch. the catch is very important"

whenever coach says 'hard in the water', i always interpret it as 'heart in the water'

i personally believe tt 要把东西做到最好,凡是都要用心.

i think my parents did great in not being able to come up with a chinese name for me, hence it became a direct translation. tay cindy (郑心蒂), which eventually became 郑心迪. well, to those who say i 没有心,i'd always be able to rebutt n say '我有心,你看我的名字有!'

haha, tts a lame moment for u.

joke of the day tt happened at lunch table. the joke revolved ard surnames.

bc: joanna, u very 胖.[coz her surname is pang]
me: yah den does it mean u r very 蔡(菜), yirang is very 白, while i'm very 郑(正)?

*witty n toothy grin* heh
