Redang (21/4/10-24/4/10)

(Long Overdue..almost stale n on the verge of growing mould)

before i start d blog proper, let me introduce the left-overs who went for the Redang trip! Featuring..*drum rolls pls*

Wed 21/4/10: Lisa and i stayed over at Annie's place the night b4. We woke up at 7am and then Vincent (royal subject's husband) went to pick Rachael. We then made our way to Seletar Airport to catch the 1050am flight to Redang (1hr 15min journey via Berjaya Airways)

we had to take a 5-10min van ride to the jetty and thereafter trsf to a boat which took another 10min. So of course..more camwhoring in d meantime!

We were in time to have lunch and then we checked into our room and slacked. haha. royal chambermaid, rachael, bought kinder surprise for each of us. The surprising thing was tt all the toys were related to water adventure sports! So anw we started playin this game which is somewhat like "pick up sticks". It required stable hands to hook as many toys as possible within a stipulated time of 1min. The loser..well, wld have a forfeit. u'd see ltr what's the brutal punishment :p

royal one, lisa, had the least no. of toys being hooked up. Yes, the punishment was tt..we'd smack her..sensitive area. *ouch*
if it looks like she was in pain, well..yes she sure was!
we decided tt we had enuf of slackin in the room and decided its time to head out to the sun, sand and sea! we were gonna have a nice tan before the sun set. So off we went with our erm..bikini, sun hat, shades, sunblock lotion, towel..etc.

Being the youngest meant i get "bullied" the most. See hw they decided to dress me up like 凤飞飞!? Roarz

royal subject, the party animal, wondering, 'wad's this!? summer mambo??" Little did she realise tt in a matter of hours, we wld be dancing (ok nt me of course..i cant dance) till midnight
our dinner was BBQ food! well the only gripe is tt we had to DIY. Mind u, we had juz showered.

tt night, we saw some pple lighting the 孔明灯. basically u write your wishes on the lantern and then ltr light it so tt ur wishes is being brought up to the Gods above. We told ourselves tt we will definitely do it during our Redang trip, but nv gt to do so cz we procrastinated to the last nite, and on tt nite it was too windy :[
I really didnt wanna go for disco nite cz I can't dance, but I was eventually forced to go Summer Mambo wif them cz all 3 wanted to go. You noe, I was absolutely ok with d idea of em going to chiong while I stayed in the room to read n juz slack. But no!~ royal one, subject and chambermaid gang up and literally carried me (one took my hands, another took my legs and 1 supported my butt) n locked me outside d room whilte they gt ready n prepare for partying. Roarz!

There was tiz Cannot-Make-It (CMI) DJ who kept encouraging pple to his dance floor. He said, "I nd all d sexy lady on my dance floor~ You are nt drunk enuf! Buy more drinks & buy me one too!" -_-^

So tiz is us aft we advanced to the dance floor. 3 of em danced ard me while i stood dere.."vibrating in my own fixed position" like how a solid molecule wld react when you heat itchoo-choo train, anyone?

They finally took pity on me and came to pick me up at d bench and we headed back to zzzThurs 22/4/10: Woke up at 7am n I was 1st to awake. Had a tough time tryin to get royal subject outta bed cz she was really gd at 赖床-ing. Aft 20-25min of ＂五分钟，再给我五分钟就好。。＂, she finally made her way to d toilet to wash up.

Today we (royal one n I) were going to dive, while (royal subject and chambermaid) wld go snorkelling instead. We were supposed to go for 3 dives today but went for 4 instead (4th one is free hee :p)

In btwn dives (ie surface interval time), we had ntg better to do. The entire beach was lined with..hammocks! When in Redang, none of us wore our watches cz we didnt wanna have any sense of time. There were only 2 times in Redang island.."Hammock time!" and "Snorkelling time!"

aft lunch, we decided to share a bowl of refreshing ice kachang cz the weather was so hot! it was lovely~ lovely indeed

I was trying to create havock on the hammock and rock it so vigorously tt royal one and subject were on the verge of flying off hahaha hammock time..peace at last!
On alternate nights, there wld be happy hour whereby there'd be 2 resident singers tt'll sing songs based on dedication. So tonite was happy hr. Omg..we gt so sick of 浪花一朵朵 cz its like the song they'd sing over and over again. Sometimes even 2-3 same dedication a nite.

We bot alot of snacks for diz trip cz we have a vegetarian amongst us. Just in case there wasn't food for her :p We ate alot of snacks and even cooked instant noodles in our room. Yes, we have someone bringing a mini electric pot too!

after a long night out, it was time to pamper ourselves. Nite aft nite, we'd go thru our beauty regime which included a 20min mask session. No matter hw tired we were, we'd make sure we mask!
Fri 23/4/10: Day 2 of diving. It was yet another rd of bargaining which went like ＂五分钟，再给我五分钟就好。。＂ -_-^ On our 1st dive today, we saw this overactive sea cucumber which literally ejaculated white sticky stuff (semen?) If i do get d chance, I'd upload d video to show u how erm..gross it is.

tonite was disco nite again! Roarz! before we headed out for dinner, we had a royal rumble aka royal showdown! So here's wad we do in d room. It's a fierce contest btwn royal subject (annie), teacup (me) and chambermaid (rachael) as we were all fightin to prove our worthiness to b the royal one's Next Top Knight.

So..diz is royal subject n teacup battling it out. Who will win? Shadowless kick vs Praying Mantis

it was kinda early for disco nite so aft dinner, we strolled along d beach and walked towards Laguna Beach in search of Roti Cani. The funny thing is tt we totally forgot what we were there for when we reached, and eventually settled for drinks instead.

Along d way, we spotted these contrasting lights and thought.."hmm isn't it a great idea to take some pix for d dvd cover of some horror flick?"

yes ok tiz is me. As u all noe, i'm neither a nite owl nor a party animal. By then, I was alr feelin so sleepy. But u noe, they juz had to drag me to join em for disco nite..again :[

i look awake but in actual fact i was v v tired..
I was so tired by then so I juz walked to the nearby bench and slept there while waitin for d rest of em to finish dancing to their hearts' content. Following which, we went back to shower and pamper ourselves b4 retiring to bed.

Sat 24/4/10: It's snorkelling time! All 4 of us were out for a full day of snorkelling adventure. D divers were kinda green with envy cz for the past 2 days, d snorkellers actually told us they saw sea turtles and baby shark. We divers..saw none of those! Hw unfair! hrmf

we stop over at diz place which breeds baby turtles and once the baby turtles grow to a certain age, they will be released to the sea. Look at hw cute they are! The very nxt moment, lisa remembered, much to her horror, tt she cldnt find her dive mask. In her moment of frantic, the baby turtle flew off her hand and landed with a "plop" on d floor. Poor turtle~
I then picked up tt lil turtle which by nw wld have suffered a slight concussion frm the fall. Talked to it and comforted it to my best ability :p

made a new fren, Christian, who's frm Germany. We had so many fish cooked in different styles. All tasted excellent! The fish were one kind of fresh~
this is the amt of beer we collectively finished. I think we ordered 3 buckets in total. i drank like 4 cans of beer..*burp*
while searchin in vain for blue sand, we found diz! shark with regulator..-_-^
aft the unsuccessful attempt to search for blue sand, we finally said our gdbye to xindong. tt nite, i was so tired and grouchy (mind u, it was close to 3am when we took diz pic), I kinda said, "i dun freakin care abt being knighted!" royal one had to remind me to be nice cz we had guest ard and I wasn't behaving. I guess i juz nd my sleep, tts all.
Sunday 25/4/10: reluctantly bade farewell to Redang where we spent an enjoyable 5 days 4 nites. So lookin forward to d next royal holiday! :]
