overcoming temptation

i decided to put on my running shoes and run yesterday. havent been having a proper run since..hmm..well i cant rmb when.

i've been running, pathetic short ones on the treadmill. those tt last no longer than 15 min. which in my honest opinion, is not considered proper.

went to explore the 'central park'--the newest addition in boon lay. i ran along the mrt line, frm boon lay to chinese garden, and back.

on my way back aft the halfway mark, i saw a familiar orange car zoom past. yah how coincident huh? it was my bro n his gf. they stopped further ahead and waited for me to approach them.

'want a lift?' my bro asked.

i hesitated. hahah darn was i tired man! it was seriously painful starting to run again, aft being sedentary for a long while.

'no, i think i'd run back..'

I will say 'I can' and not 'I can't', for "I can do all things thru Christ who strengthens me"

the dark knight

u shd really catch tiz brilliant show!

its so sinister, sick, ghastly, yet..every moment of the movie was so worth watching! the joker (acted out fabulously by Heath Ledger) is so psychotic, it sent shivers down my spine!

Some parts of the show which i found was hillarious, in an ironic way.

[The Joker holds Rachel Dawes out of a window]
Batman: Let her go.
The Joker: Hmm. Poor choice of words.
[The Joker lets her drop as he laughs maniacally]

Alfred Pennyworth: Will you be wanting the Batpod, sir?
Bruce Wayne: In the middle of the day, Alfred? Not very subtle.
Alfred Pennyworth: The Lamborgini, then? Much more subtle!

The Joker: I use a knife because guns are too quick. Otherwise, you can't savor all the emotions. You know who people are in their last moments.

the joker..is beyond 变态. yet its like, u cant bear to hate him for the way he is.

Simply brilliant!

Imagine this..

have u ever such an encounter?

I was on the MRT last fri. fortunately or unfortunately, i stay in boon lay, which 'earns' me the opportunity to have a seat on the train.

well, then the train set off. at lakeside, diz lady walked in and stood in front of me.

She had a tummy. Yes..a tummy.

I hesitated.

Yes i did!

Coz being civic-minded, i had wanted to give up my seat to her, well...if she was pregnant.

But the qn was:

Is she??

It's like, the 'tummy' cld very well be juz signs of obesity. Or it cld also very well be tt she was 2-3 mths pregant.

In the end, i chose not to give up the seat. to save her, and myself, the possibility of embarassment.

how wld she have felt if i gave the seat to her, and she was actually juz plump? Wld she have felt extremely self conscious abt her looks, her body, and how pple perceived her?

how wld i have felt, if i've made such a shameful mistake of having to 'throw her face' and subtly declare to the whole cabin, 'hey lady..u seem like u nd to lose some of those..' *points to tummy*

The price of beauty

Been catching the much talked abt show, tt is televised every wknights at 10pm, on Channel U.

the one abt plastic surgery. Well, not juz coz Thomas Ong is damn 帅..but the plot is pretty substantial too.

Basically the show evolves ard the 帅 plastic surgeorn, and Michelle Chia as the bickering other half. U noe the thing abt shows and how the bickering couple eventually ends up being tgt?

Anw they argue abt the grounds of plastic surgury, the aesthetic as well as the ethical/moral aspect of it.

I particularly liked the episode of the fat lady, who went for liposuction upon sponsorship by her generous(but fat) boyfriend, only to emerge a prettier, slimmer more confident lady.

After which, she ditched tt generous but fat) boyfriend and went back to her original bf( a suave looking guy).

The true irony is tt at the beginning of the show, the viewer wld feel pity towards the fat lady..whom we'd feel unjust for since she has a fat bf. I mean, if u r fat, why shd u insist tt ur gf becomes slim for u? Why shd anyone, in fact, go for plastic surgury, or beauty enhancement, for the sake of somebody else?

At the end of the episode, the pity is shifted to the fat bf, who was ditched and betrayed of his trust, his money, to a gf he thought he cld share them with. I rmb how Thomas Ong and Michelle Chia were debating abt how the lady, has attained beautiful on the outside, but lost all her inner beauty. In short, a rotton apple.

It's these shows tt makes u wonder, at what cost/lengths will one go to attain beauty? Is winning the whole world, but losing ur soul in its pursuit, really worth it?

2 movie clips tt nv fails to make me laugh even though i re-watched it a million times..

1) How sex sounds like

Theresa: Let..er..to let u noe how the sex sounds like.

Unknown person 1(think its Christie): How?

Unknown person no. 2: is it sex or..wadever?

Angela: huh..orh

Theresa: Becoz..Becoz someone did smtg rite, den SHE said, "No its not like tt, its *censored*" But i dunno how to do.

Raine: Wenya~

2) Cancer Dance

Happy birthday to all Cancerians out there--LiPin, Karine, Twin, Raine, Angela, my brother..

Trivia: notice at the background of these 2 movie clips, manda n zeeway r both so bz with team stuff. wad can i say man..its damn lonely being on the top.

June Race 08

ok i'm 1 wk late for my blog entry..

but who cares?

well it was definitely not my 1st time gg back as a supporter. but i guess being a supporter for the june race is like the most dua-zhong of all races. esp with all that publicity n stuff.

trivia stuff tt happened which i taut was damn memorable (albeit in a very cockanathan way for incident no. 1)

1) The cheerleaders of n*us taught us tiz cheer to the supporters:

N*US love to fight
N*US love to kill

N*US love to fight and kill

Fight kill, fight kill!
Fight kill, fight kill, fight kill!
Fight kill, fight kill fight kill, fight kill fight kill, fight kill!!

P/S: for those of you who dun already geddit.. try saying 'fight kill' fast enuf, and u noe wad i mean..

f*ck u! wahahahaha

in my honest opinion, its either they change cheerleaders, or come up with better cheers. u noe how awful and paiseh it sounded?

and another was that 'orange-blue-and white' (thanx raine for helping me rectify) cheer..walau eh -_-^ super diaoz can!?

2) i've gotten back what i gave away to a special someone last yr. i told the interiorly weird gross thing tt i wld like her to have it as i was v proud of her even though she didnt get to row. I hope she'd work hard the subsequent yr so as to row in PM cup set and win. thereafter, she can return it to me.

And she did! actually i wanted back the 2007 edition, but she insisted i get the 2008one coz she has misplaced mine. Walau of course i dun believe tt she lost it..

3) most, or in fact all who rowed both last yr and tiz yr's women's PM cup commented that it felt more shiok last yr. there's juz smtg missing..

Perhaps its a less compelling desire to win it back? cld it really be tt it takes losing it all, to savour the sweet taste of victory?

i dunno, n neither am i in any position to comment.

4) zee n i got very gd lame frequency! its really very fun when ur jokes are being appreciated, and then rebutted in the same nature.

5) the word 'bittersweet'--> which we used often in Sec 3 Lit, for Romeo and Juliet..can be used so aptly to describe a man whom when-yah n i spotted, watching his team from afar during the prize presentation.

the man, as u have guessed..was sir. Needless to say, its damn bittersweet to see his gals faring well, but his guys in tears n downcast looks. I guess, all we cld do was to be there. ntg much we talked abt, but we merely stood by him.

6) After goodness knows how long, e 6 of us finally managed to take a pic together. (wahh why did i get pink??)
